Description

Journalism as a discipline needs dynamic and enthusiastic Tutors with relevant professional knowledge. The Tutors provides instruction and skills to students at all levels of education at the college. As a Tutor, your job duties includes planning lessons that correspond to your students’ ability level, facilitating class activities, and providing feedback to students about their work and progress. To teach an integrated class that includes students with special needs or disabilities, one must differentiate lessons to accommodate to the unique learning requirements of those students. Among other duties are:

  • To prepare instructional plan and scheme of training by interpreting curriculum and guidelines in view to achieve optimum results and set objectives.
  • To prepare appropriate tools and equipment required for presentation/Demonstration by identifying them as mentioned in a range statement in order to enable conducive training process.
  • To effectively and efficiently deliver instructions to trainees of Diploma/Certificate levels through lectures, demonstrations, discussions and imparting intended knowledge, skills and attitude in order to produce trainees with the required competencies.
  • To perform formative and summative assessment to preparing and using assessment tools such as oral, written, product assessment and record in Log books in order to evaluate their level of competences.
  • To participate in curriculum development by initiating improvement recommendations, attending workshops, seminars in order to validate the value of training as per the economic growth demand.
  • To prepare daily, weekly, monthly, terminal and annual implementation and progress reports by compiling trainee’s assessment forms in view to evaluate training status.
  • To monitor discipline of trainees by following rules and regulations stipulated in their joining instructions in order to maintain peace and order at the school.
  • To guide safe use of training tools and equipment by performing daily preventive and corrective maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, fault checking and do minor repairing to maintain their life span.
  • To provide cancelling to trainees through physical discussions and advising in order to give direction and guidance for the better life of the trainees
  • Participate in the preparation of annual plan and budget by compiling data from his/her work station for onward submission to the superior.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly/annual financial progress report by consolidating progress station records for onward submission to the superior.
Requirements

Minimum entry qualification is Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mass Communication / Journalism with proficiency in Video/TV Production and Graphics Designing Software, from a well Reputable and Government Recognised Institution. Attainment of Diploma in Journalism and CBET Certificate are the added advantages.
